《崩坏之兆：瘟疫》融合了70年代以来广受玩家喜爱的游戏书，以一种全新方式展开的文字冒险游戏。游戏中融合了许多洛夫克拉夫特创造的未知生物、宇宙、神秘宗教等恐怖小说元素，玩家可以通过通过探索、决策和对话改变书中的事件，协助故事的主人公解决可怖的疾病，窥视其背后的真相。
